Subtitle Sync error

I am experiencing subtitles going off sync whenever I fast forward, rewind and resuming videos at where I have left. As a result I have change the subtitle offset every time I make a leap. I am currently running a server on WD My cloud home which works fine with all other devices so I believe its’ the player’s fault. This happens when the subtitle is not burned on the image and I believe the video is not being transcoded but is directly played. Both the server and the player is up to date.

PS. I have tried running the same test using PC server running on 1.25.8.5663 and the problem persist thus I am pretty sure it’s the player’s fault.

I have exactly the same issue. I can do fast forward on my IOS app on my iPad without issues.

With the official Plex app for Samsung Tizen there are issues and subs are out of sync.

On my older Samsung TV I was running the Orca app and that also works without issues.

All on the same server with Direct Play or Direct Stream.

Plex, please fix….

Update: Recently I found out that subtitles going out of sync only happens when audio is being transcoded. If the video was fully direct played or both video and audio are being transcoded, the subtitle works fine. However, if audio is the only one being transcoded; in my situation direct play was disabled due to flac or dts being transcoded into aac or different formats, the subtitles went out of sync. Hope my studies become useful towards the next update.

Can confirm the exact same behaviour. As soon as audio is beeing transcoded and the video not the subtitles get out of sync. Plex on my fire tv cube does not have this issue, so it must be the player.

I can also confirm this issue. Samsung Tizen (Q90A). As soon as audio is beeing transcoded, and video direct streamed subtitles go out of sync.

Any official Plex feedback would be greatly appriciated.

Same issue here. Furthermore, the audio transcoding happens on supported audio streams too if the mkv file includes .pgs subtitles , even if they are not selected.

Plex client update 5.47.1 seems to have solved this issue for me.

I still get unnecessary transcoding of audio (allways for second audio and when mkv has more than 32 streams) - I’ll open a separate topic for this issue.

i seem to have the same problem only exaggrated…
plex subtitles goes out of sync, but also the audio. the movie show some “fuzzing” for a second and then the audio get out of sync (on samsung tv).
tried to disable direct play with no appareant effect.
did anyone encounter similar issue?
