I have had Plex for years but lately I have noticed that there are issues with my subtitles when streaming on my Samsung Smart TV… I used the “sub-zero” plugin to browse my folders for subtitles which worked great. But during an episode or movie sometimes my subtitles just don’t show up for a few lines, after that they are showing up again for sometimes a few minutes and sometimes a few seconds before they disappear again for a while. Very annoying of course and after checking the subtitle file itself I can clearly see that there is text which would normally show up. There is no issue when I am watching via my browser, so only via the TV.
Also having this issue with Synology DS918+, Roku, Samsung smart TV. Hopefully someone has a hint.
At first I thought it was only with movies where I had 2 versions and one was a 4K MKV, and when watching the MP4 version I couldn’t get the subtitles to show but switching to the MKV version they’d appear.
But on other MP4 versions the subs wouldn’t work even without another version.
Yeah don’t have this when I revert back out of the early access version on my samsung. So in my case it must have something to do with the early access version. Which looks nice but has at least 1 major issue in my case
I’m also experiencing this issue. Samsung Smart TV on Early Access app version 5.1.2.
Subtitles will show most of the time then some lines just won’t show at all and the next line will, making you miss a whole sentence. When I force burn the subtitles they display correctly, but obviously this is not a solution, just a workaround.
