Subtitles not showing on Android players

Web players are showing the external subtitle (SRT OpenSubtitles) correctly but two Android players are not. What could be the reason?

I am new to the app and have the same issue on same version. Was hoping the app would allow me to search for subtitles and that kind of general management but no option to do this which is really frustrating.
