Subtitles not working (yes.. I did search)

I used to have subtitles working but they seem to have stopped working for everything. This is true for all players included the web player that comes with PMS. I have tried recoding my MKV files removing all but one subtitles track, and I have used tools to set that track to default. I only want the forced subtitles for those short scenes where they’re using another language other than my preferred language.

I have read every “subtitles aren’t working” thread I could find on this forum and I can’t figure out why subtitles are not working.

Subtitles do not work for any player including the web player built into PMS.

Any pointers on what I might be missing to crack the code? Thanks!!

Please post the Plex XML info of one movie that is supposed to have subtitles.

  • On which platform are you running Plex server?
  • Which client types do you use?
  • Did you recently disable ‘Local Media Assets’ in your Agent configuration?
  • Are your media files stored on the same machine where Plex server is running on?
