Hi, most movies are in wider than 16:9 format, thus there are black bars bellow video. Is it possible to setup subtitles on nvidia shield tv to be displayed in this area? Now its position is always in the video, which is too bad. All common videoplayers allow to picture the subtitles bellow the video.
Also, the change of color to yellow would be great!
At least i am thankful for the correction of an error regarding 10 bit videos, where the subtitles were not pictured at all (before 5.2 experience update). Keep on with perfecting the Plex, you have my full support guys!
I’ve been searching for this for a while but couldn’t find anything. This would make it a perfect player. For now I’m switching between Roku, Samsung and Shield but with this feature Shield would be my only player. Please add this feature to Shield Plex player.
Also missing this feature. Subtitles as they are now are displayed way too high in the frame. They should be ideally centered between the border (bottom text line below, double lines centered between the bottom border), or alternatively both lines just below the border.
Developers, please add this feature. In PMP this feature exists from the start…
I just bought new Nvidia shield tv because its ability for 4K HDR playback, but to high position of subtitles and inability to position subtitles below video (in “black bar”) is really bothering me.
This is unacceptable . Just bought the flagship of all plex players, a 200$ device for playing movies with plex and it does not have ANY subtitle options al all. WHEN IS THIS FIXED?
I have Universal media server (as DLNA server) and it properly encode my subtitles characters to east-europe and place it below the video.
Why Plex can’t do that?
If use Firefox on my PC as Plex Client, the subtitles will appear on the black bars.
It seems it the actual the Plex Client on my Samsung Tv who can’t put subtitles on black bars!!
