Hello. My subtitles stopped displaying remotely. They worked fine yesterday. I’m scratching my head because I am familiar with all the plex settings and I can’t figure it out. The subtitles will display locally. I am wondering if I need to reinstall?
Edit: I reinstalled no luck. Image based subtitles will not play remotely.
The subtitles won’t display image based remotely, when they were displaying remotely yesterday. Burn in is working but I don’t want to burn in.
on what client are you experiencing this?
do you have the same issue using a different client (e.g. browser vs. desktop vs. mobile clients)?
Hi, thanks for responding. It is happening on an android phone and a new Roku. I’m just not sure what happened or why the subtitles won’t play image based anymore.
Update: I did a test with a different server and the (image based) subtitles showed fine remotely. For some reason the plex server on my NAS isn’t displaying subtitles to remote clients.
And those subtitles are displaying correctly while you’re connected locally to your server?
Yep. No problems on local network at all, all the subtitles show up. I even tried adding external subtitles and they still won’t show remotely. There has gotta be some way to fix this server side because my other pc displays to the remote devices just fine. I did a reinstall of plex, removed all the old program files, deleted the directory. Reinstalled the latest version with no luck.
