*** SOLUTION *** Can’t believe this has not been stated in 2+ years OR fixed by PLEX!
I bought an HDHomeRun tuner and found the same issue. No settings found in the DVR settings.
No closed captioning when using HDHomeRun App, but showing when live streaming in Plex.
This is really a problem with the options in Plex. You must change your Plex sever settings to change subtitles to Manually Selected. (Under Settings/Languages/Subtitle Mode) There is no setting under Live TV/DVR! When subtitles are set to automatic, this causes closed captioning to appear on the tuner!
Are you listening Plex??? You need to add a separate option under the DVR settings for CC!
I should not have to turn off subtitles to stop closed captioning! They are not the same thing!
