I am trying to get subtitles on the free western movies that plex offers so that my parents are able to understand the movie. However, I can only find a way to add subtitles to my own LOCAL media, not the FREE plex movies. Is this by design?
The choice of subtitle languages is determined by the license for that content. Currently, the content comes with only one, sometimes two subtitle languages. This is how the content partner provides them.
It is unfortunately almost impossible to provide subtitles for a wide range of languages at the same time, due to the fact that typically different parties are owning the intellectual properties to each language version.
