Subtitles, are just awful in Plex, it should not be so confusing to get this to work. What the problem you ask, what’s not the problem. All the time I get unknown even though my language is set everywhere, sometimes with the shield I can select more and select from a list but this is useless because it is so out of sync. On my nuc pc they come up better but still so out of sync useless. If you are on anything else streaming are what ever you just select the CC and it works. I have looked at everything Plex says to do and it’s still just garbage, this should be simple for anyone to turn on and off.
What they need MOST is a simple one click button to turn them on and off. Shows that use just segments that need them, and there’s not a forced option, really suck to watch. Constantly going in and out of the menus.
I posted a nuance issue I’m having with subtitles, but I’m actually not complaining on the overall. Interestingly since the auto sync, I’ve noticed a huge improvement with the subs being in sync. I guess that was the point, I just had low expectations.
I figure it’s because I’m not using the same platform as you (aptv4k) but since I started drilling down into my issue, there are a lot of subtitle issues with many people so your post definitely deserves some attention.
