My plex media server suddenly offline on DS920+, I can,t found the server on the plex account. I try to remove certain entries with follow the support articles. After that, i need to claim the server with my account but it doesn’t work. It just show no respond after press claim server button and show there was a problem signing in to Plex. Please give me some advice.
The first thing to check is your network and it’s configuration. If the server is unable to communicate with plex.tv then things will not work as expected.
Also, check the Package Center and make sure the server is still running. The server may have crashed during maintenance as I have reported here: Plex Crashing During Maintenance
After verifying that the server is indeed running and your network is working correctly, close your browser and then reopen it and type in the IP address for your server and add the port number for Plex.
For example: 192.168.0.2:32400
Then go to Plex Settings > General and click on the claim button if it is displayed.
Make sure you select the correct server, if you have more than one.
You may also go to Plex Settings > Authorised Devices > Server and remove any errant server entries there. Keep only the most recent entries.
I can’t sure the network and it’s configuration are correct, before the server offline everything is fine and after that i don’t change anything. Can you show me how to make sure the network setting are correct. I agree you say the server is unable to communicate with plex.tv then things will not work.
As i say it just show no respond after press claim server button and show there was a problem signing in to Plex. Therefore, i think it may cause by the network malfunction.
Finally, i find the solution and follow the step to solve the problem. But i still don’t know why suddenly cause this happen.
In DSM > Control Panel > Network > General, tick Manually configure DNS server. Assign “8.8.8.8” to the preferred DNS server and “8.8.4.4” to the alternative DNS server.
