Server Version#: 1.18.1.1973
Player Version#:7.28.0.15501
Hello
I have 2 Firesticks (one being 4K tho not connected to a 4K tv).
They both worked fine until the other day when the Firestick 4k stopped playing some films! I worked out it wont play 480i files (but will play 480p).
I get an Error msg saying “The server in not powerful enough to convert video”.
But it does fine on the other Firestick and it did play them fine the other day on this one!!
I realise I’m not giving you much technical info (i’m new to all this) but can anyone help?

I have the same issue (Synology NAS and Apple TV).
You can go back to your previous Plex Version waiting for the solution.
Let me now if you find one !

The last change was to address a Google issue impacting Live TV
Treated myself to a new 4k Fire Stick on Prime day as an upgrade to my current Fire TV Gen 2 (Box) but its not being much of a treat.
For some reason all HD channels on UK Freeview just freeze the display (audio keeps playing but image locked like a screenshot) after a few seconds of playing. Have to then press home mutiple times to get out and force close the app. They play fine on the older Fire TV Gen 2 but I read that the new 4k stick is supposed to be better for live tv as it can play inte…
This is being referred to our development team. Could I have logs please from the Android App.

Plex for Android 7.29.0 is being released which changes the recent fix for interlaced video to ensure that it is only done for Live TV and not video playback
See
Plex for Android 7.29.0
Available on Google Play and the Amazon App Store .
NOTE: We are performing a staged rollout, which means the update may take a day or two before it becomes available.
WHATS NEW:
Live TV: “Browse” tab enabled on DVR sections to filter all guide programs more easily.
[Mobile] “On Device” subtitle added to local sections in the sidebar to distinguish them better.
[Mobile] “Downloads & Sync” and “Open Video File” sections can now be pinned and re-ordered in the sidebar.
[…
Ensure only Live TV interlaced content is force transcoded on Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K.
Still no luck for me!!
Tho different error msg this time (used to say server not powerful to play file)
I have restarted everything but no luck!

This is an issue with the new player (at least for me). Please go and disable the new player in Plex settings (advanced > Enable new video player) and check if the issue happens again.
For me, on 7.29.0.15876, it did the trick
Andrea
Just created a specific issue with details:
Server Version#: 1.18.8.2468
Player Version#: 7.29.0.15876
Hi folks,
I’ve found a potential bug on Plex new player starting from 7.28 on.
In facts, trying to reproduce a movie 480i/AC3 that was reproduced fine on 7.27.1.15203, I receive an error “An error occurred trying to play …” and I can’t see it with the ExoPlayer. Everything is going well with the old player, all versions.
Some logs:
movie 480i/AC3 with ExoPlayer (7.29.0.15876) NOT WORKING:
https://pastebin.com/kFysbc42
movie 480i/…
current workaround is to stay with 7.27

Thanks
Will check later today when I get home and let you know.

Still only v7.28 showing up for me!
Still no sign of any update!
Any idea when we’ll get it?
Same for me! Why does Plex always add USELESS FEATURES and then BREAK ESSENTIALS FEATURES like PLAYING THE FREAKING VIDEO???

I report the same issue with 7.29.2.16071
See my post:
please try 7.29.1 version.
Now with the ExoPlayer you can see the 480i only if you start from the beginning, otherwise it won’t start at all. With old player everything fine.
thanks
Andre
you can get from here:
then use something like adbLink to upload. See this post:
Hello,
Just like many of you I hate the latest 6.4.2 version of Plex on FireTV so I’ve decided to find a way to downgrade it to 6.4.1.1644. which was the latest version with a nice GUI.
Tested on my 1st and 2nd Gen FireTV 5.7.3-20.
Note: You can leave your stick plugged into the TV
BEFORE STARTING MAKE SURE YOUR PC/MAC IS CONNECTED TO THE SAME WIFI YOUR FIRETV STICK IS
On FireTV stick go to:
Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Plex → Uninstall (I’ve also cleared ca…
But again, it doesn’t work properly
Andrea
At last amazon has rolled out the latest update and it seems to have fixed the problem
