Suggested specs for PMS and client on one computer

Both PMS and client are running OK. With the exception of some very minor play back stuttering of the DVR playback.
AMD R3 2200G
A320 MB
8 Gigs Ram
4 channel tuner PCIE Card.
Zotak GT730
Running windows 10.
It will sometimes playback and record at the same time.
But like I said before, I get playback stuttering. Not a lot. But it is annoying.
All software is up to date.
Any suggestions

Take out the GT730 and use the AMD graphics.

Live TV sometimes buffers in the first 20 seconds of tuning a chanel.

Most important things:

  • Which Plex client software is used?
  • Is there a real TV device attached per HDMI or are you using a computer monitor?

and yes it is a real tv. It is our HTPC.

I thought about that, but for now, it’s staying. I have a GTX 1060 to
go in there if we get a VR headset. I’ll make this decision in January.

If you use it as a HTPC, I recommend you to go back to Plex Media Player and to activate
both ‘TV mode’ and ‘Refresh rate switching’.
Because only then you have chance if getting no stuttering, juddering, tearing etc at all.

@OttoKerner If only I could find those settings. I don’t think they are in the client any longer.

They are there – if you have installed Plex Media Player and not “Plex for Windows/Mac”.
