I have some TV show media of which I have both DoVi MKVs and separate HDR10 MKVs.
The problem with DoVi is that as far as I can tell, Plex does not currently support tone mapping to HDR10+/HDR10/SDR for non-DoVi devices. Hence why im holding on to two separate versions. I cannot combine these into a single MKV, as the duration differs slightly, (one includes a recap) which in turn throws off subtitle timestamps, skip intro…etc
I want to be able to watch the DoVi files from my DoVi supported devices, but still want the HDR10 versions to exist as a fallback for samsung TVs, or as a tone mapping source for non HDR devices.
Is there a naming convention or folder structure i need to follow to store these within the same library, and have plex select the correct source automatically?
