Support for Google Cast 2.0

Kef just upgraded its speakers to Google Cast 2.0 (firmware 3.3) and Plexamp lost the ability to cast to my LS 50 Wireless IIs. I can cast to the speakers with Bubble UPnP, MediaMonkey, Emby, Google Home cast and Youtube Music, but not with Plexamp, Plex Web or Poweramp. Kef have advised me that my apps including Plexamp and Plex Web are not compatible with Google Cast 2.0. Please add support for Google Cast 2.0 so that I can resume using Plexamp and Plex Web with my Kef loudspeakers.

Regrettably, I had to switch to another player. I am now using Symfonium. It has the ability to see my Plex server and to cast to the Kefs using either UPnP or Google Cast (Chromecast) protocol. That will have to do for the time being, until Plex gets around to fixing Plexamp. Another alternative is BubbleUPnP. It can cast to the Kefs, but is not directly compatible with Plex (need to enable Plex DLNA server) and does not have nice UI features like Symfonium.

Same story here, I now have an old Google Chromecast connected to the optical input of the LS 50 Wireless IIs to get around the problem, but I would much prefer to go back to using the direct Wi-Fi connection on the KEFs.
This comes after having the same problem with my JBL portable speaker, I ended up selling that after trying every work around that was suggested, I really don’t want go down that route with my KEFs.
Can you please fix this, Spotify, BBC Sounds, TuneIn Radio Pro, and SoundCloud, all work fine, why not Plex and Plexamp?

I recommend giving Symfonium a try. It plays well from a Plex server.

Many thanks, I’ll give it a go. I’m fed up with waiting for Plex to do something about it.

Many thanks again, I found some time this morning and gave it a try, so far I’m impressed. Read the Plex database and presented artists, albums, and tracks without any glitches, and in a very similar way to Plexamp, and, plays very nicely with the Wi-Fi input of the KEFs.
