+1 on needing support for HDHR3-US
I’m in the same boat, but also willing to look for a newer model if necessary; would be nice to hear official word either way. Regardless, still excited to see this feature on Plex.

I have an old HDHomeRun Dual that I used to use with Windows Media Center, but it has been collecting dust. I gave it a shot to see if it would work with Plex (says all HDHomeRun tuners are supported). I just installed Plex server and paid for a Plex Pass. In going through the setup, Plex did detect my Dual, but when I did a channel scan, no channels were found:
No channels found. Make sure your device has a signal from your antenna and try scanning again.
Am I out of luck? I did update the firmware to the latest version (20170930). I wasn’t able to have any luck in getting the HDHomerun view program to tune to any channels either, although the setup did find 36 channels.
Try connectin a TV to the cable coming from your antenna to the Dual. If the TV detects channels you know the antenna/cable are working. Then look at signal strength/quality to determine if the antenna is providing a decent signal. Many issues with DVR seem to be signal related.

I know the antenna cable is working. It was connected to my Tivo Roamio DVR and was working fine. I ran the HDHomeRun setup on a PC and 36 channels were found, although when I try to view them using HDHomeRun View or mobile app, it is unable to tune to any of the channels that were found in setup.
The Plex channel scan doesn’t detect any channels.
You say you could view the connect channels on the pc, what OS pc if Windows was it running the latest hdhomerun config software a recent update has just been done, if so you should trouble shoot through the silicon dust forum, they can help trouble shoot by using the device I’d.
Problem solved! It was the splitter I was using to go into the two tuner inputs on the HDHomeRun. It seems to work fine now.
So a signal issue.
