Hi - having real trouble here. Reset my password for Plex on the Mac computer and ticked the box requesting all devices log in again with the new password. Worked great on the computer and I can log back in.
BUT - the app on my iPhone logs in, then says “We noticed you have more than one Plex server available to you. Please select your preferred server and we’ll setup your initial home screen for you.”
There is only one option to select, not more than one. However, it is the correct server, as far as I’m aware. So I select it. The next screen says it’s Customizing my Navigation and asks me to select Soucres to pin to the sidebar. NONE of the content from MY server is listed. Only Plex generic content. And select any of these just leaves my home screen without my content. Searching around, my content from my server just never appears and isn’t in there.
Similarly on my Samsung TV - which has always worked fine - I looked back in via a 4 letter code on the screen. It logged in and my old menu for MY content is there - but it says it can’t connect to my server.
What’s going on? Why can’t it log back in and see my content? Please help, I’ve tried everything and it’s driving me crazy. Thank you.
For information: Since resetting the password, I have claimed the server on the Plex on my iMac.
The iPhone and Samsung TV are on the same internet wireless network.
I am running Version 1.20.1.3252 of Plex on my iMac. It says it is up to date.
It was all connecting fine and not “offline” until after I reset the password and required all devices to log back in.
I am not overly tech savvy, so after reading several posts I am still very much at a loss.
Note: Sometimes MY server on the list on my iPhone says “offline”, sometimes it doesn’t. But even when it doesn’t, the content from MY server (which I can see and access on my iMac) does not appear and is not possible to select in any way. On the Samsung TV the categories from my server are listed, but all with exclamation marks and it says it cannot connect to my server.
Thanks for replying. Much appreciated. I did this but nothing has changed. I am logged into the desktop just fine and it works perfectly.
But neither the iPhone app or the Samsung TV app (both logged in and on the same network) can find the server.
I do not have two server titles.
Oddly, the iPhone app just connected after 24 hours. It says it the server was offline… then it worked. No reason. Nothing changed.
But the Samsung TV - which I can log into as me and it can see my server… cannot connect to the server. It’s very confusing.
If I delete the Authorised devices in the desktop, how do I relink them? Just by signing in with a code?
Thanks for your guidance.
I deleted the Authorised device (samsung TV) and logged bag in on the TV via a code.
Same issue. It logs me in as me but says my Server is not available.
To be clear - I am logged into the Samsung TV as me. I can see that it is logged in as me.
It is on the same network as my host computer.
But it STILL says it cannot connect to the server.
Can someone please assist? I am truly at a loss to explain it. Everything else seems fine. Why can’t the TV find the server? My iPhone can on exactly the same Wifi network.
