have the new Surface Pro X which is ARM based and will only run 32bit apps. is PLex going to release a 32bit version of the player ? since the windows 10 app is no more ? the web player is horrible
Not just about the Surface Pro X, but the usability of the plex app on windows touch devices is… horrible.
In my Surface Pro 5, the UI is really laggy and almost impossible to use without the typecover, because nothing is optimized for touch.
I may be wrong, but I’m almost confident it is possible to detect if the user is using tablet mode and then adapt the app for a experience more touch friendly.
well There is no app I can use at all, since there is no ARM version or 32bit version either. and the dont allow the windows 10 version to be installed anymore
Yeah, I know…
I think your only alternative is the web player, and maybe the new pmp? Not sure if that would even work on arm actually.
Nope since its 64bit. ARM can run 32bit x86 apps… web player really sucks
I have the same problem. Optimally Plex can release an ARM 64 build.
Just got my Surface Pro X today. NO PLEX! Plex team: please re-compile as 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit ARM (preferred). ARM 32-bit does no good (FYI).
I’ll add another +1 here. Just got my Surface Pro X and would love if there could be an arm64 or x86(32b) version of the Plex player!
Another long time plex user that just got the Surface Pro X only to realize there is no plex app that works with it. Please create a version for ARM windows users!
! +1 !
For now, you can download Kodi from MS Store, and install the Plex add-on through Kodi. This gives you an option to access PMS through Kodi on your Surface Pro X.
Just tried it on my Surface Pro X, and it works great! Will see if there is a Plex Sync option on Kodi that can then be used to sync Plex media files on Kodi.
I too would like to see the Plex app run on the Surface Pro X.
