Sweet Fades don’t work with DJ Stretch

Hey folks,

I am unable to make sweet fades work properly on my iPhone. It seems to work alright with regular shuffle (though I’m not 100% sure) but it definitely doesn’t work when DJ Stretch is enabled. That’s my favorite feature, so I hope I can get this sorted!

I’ve never posted a log, so hopefully this works. I clicked “share logs” right after a song transition to show the issue.

Thanks!

What was used as basis, before DJ stretch was activated?
A regular playlist? A radio? Something else?

In a quick test, sweet fades are working alright with DJ stretch over here.
Are you certain that all your tracks have been analyzed yet for loudness?

I was using a radio, in this case “laid back radio”.

I am not sure that loudness has been analyzed, and don’t how to check nor force the process to begin. I’ve got it set to hourly updates so I don’t see why it wouldn’t have been done.

The same issue happens when DJ Stretch is enabled in most settings. It works occasionally but it seems to simply go to the next track without any fade most of the time.

A library scan will only analyze newly added files. All the other, already existing files will only be analyzed during the nightly server maintenance period.
How long all that will take is heavily dependent on your server hardware, the amount of tracks, and how recently the analysis has been activated.
So make sure that your server device is switched on during the nights, while having access to all the media.

Please make sure your library is analyzed for loudness. The best way to tell is if you see the “waveform” display in the player as opposed to the simple line for seeking.

Got it, thanks for the tip. No, I do not always see a waveform; I’d say about 50% of the time there is one and the other 50% it is the line.

I’ve left the computer on overnight last night and I’ll do the same tonight. I’ve left it overnight previously and assumed it would have done the regular maintenance, but perhaps this will solve the issue.

I’ll report back after testing it for a few days.

Thanks again - cheers

Checking back in - it is sounds a lot better! I still see tracks that haven’t been analyzed but it’s become pretty rare.

Thanks for you help - it looks like it’s slowly getting there - and where it is now is pretty remarkable.

What an awesome program. Seriously. Thank you!
