I’ve been a PlexPass member for almost 2 years now. The ability to sync to my iOS devices has been fantastic. About 2 weeks ago the ability to sync any content stopped working. From my various iOS devices, I can see my PLEX server and I can select a show to download like always. I get a message that says the sync has started. However, when I go to my sync memu it’s just sitting in a queue with a status of “Pending”. It doesn’t even start the process of syncing. I’ve had a few movies sit there for days with just a status of “Pending”. I don’t know what changed because for almost 2 years everything worked. Now, I can’t sync any of my content.
I have plenty of space (70+ GB) available for the movies on the iOS device.
Please go to Settings - Devices. Check to make certain you don’t have multiple instances of the particular iOS device showing. I have the same issue you do if I am not careful after the iOS app updates. It’s something with how Apple apps get ID numbers from what I understand. I clear it by deleting all the instances, signing the app out of the device and then back into the plex app. It will register itself as a new device.
You can also, to ensure you get a proper update, initiate a sync from the device itself and track its progress on the server (activities).
After you’ve checked that, when you queue something to sync (the items you originally wanted) you should be able to track it through the conversion process. It will convert all items before it allows sync. This is how Plex chose to implement it. Once done and ready for download, go to the device and initiate the sync from it. The download should start and keep going until all are complete.
Problem with no solution, no forecast, and no use trying anything, come have several tests and in the end, they say it’s a problem they are trying to solve, 2 weeks there, and for many 2 months … always a plex Ninja answers, But never a plex employee appears.
I did a lot of testing with PMS 1.2.7 to and now I’m back on DVR beta three (PMS 1.2.0) but it seems that I found a solution.
Nothing to change on PMS!
