I have had plex working great - for several years in fact, but this week the sync stopped working for all users - so I am guessing it is something with my PC/Server.
I have followed all steps I have seen on the message board - remove app from devices and remove synced items, power off phone, etc. I also uninstalled and reinstalled my server. It simply won’t sync. I can see my devices listed – I can choose the program I want to sync from the server or from the phone - they are communicating (both server and phone will display the same items in sync), but the sync status is “… waiting to be converted” on the server, and always “pending” on the iphone. Is this possibly related to a windows update or something that will resolve itself shortly? I know there have been lots of sync issues for others - but I am just confused at why it is occurring when It was all working properly in the past.
I had to rename the xml file to txt extension for the forum to allow upload. On my phone I still see the same 1 movie waiting to sync - It says waiting for server and the status is pending - since 9/25/16.
this is very odd. i can’t seem to see the reason for the sync lists to die. ( the server stops processing them ) generally that should only happen if a device has not connected to the server in a very long time
can you please one more time. wanna make sure we are in a clean state
remove your syncs from Activty>Sync for that device
make sure synced items are actually removed from device
restart server
sign out then back into the app on the device
try to sync again on that device Holly from the device itself ( don’t initiate sync from web app )
i notice you have a really high number of items set to sync to Cloud Sync. 1365 of them which could be halting everything else as it is processing that. are those items already synced? seems to be your entire movie library.
I deleted the cloud sync items - in fact unlinked the cloud - so there were no items waiting to sync. I followed your steps above and initiated sync from my device. Still no go. new logs and xml renamed to text attached.
what do you have Prioritize streaming transcodes set to in the Transcoder settings in 1.1.4
if you do not mind could you update to Server version 1.2.2 which was released yesterday ( you will have to install manually get from downloads page ) there was some changes in how it prioritizes transcodes which i think is what is causing the problem
I upgraded and rebooted - still no joy. Here are the transcoder settings (image file) I did as before - started sync on the device Holly. My phone continues to say it is pending and waiting on server.
I’ve finally had success in resolving this issue. I’m sure I’ve looked at this area of the Plex Server before shrugs but it’s working now and that’s the main thing.
I was unable to sync to any devices (iPad etc), not just Android. Everything was “Waiting on Conversion”. Clicking on the conversion tab (in the picture) through Plex Web on my PC server there was a resume button/option. as soon as I hit that it immediately synced all pending actions on all devices. Now when I request sync from my Nexus 5 it works straight away.
Don’t know how I missed this, or if the conversion tab of the server has just started working again for me. Either way, everyone check that out to see if it works for you.
