Sync job stuck in limbo after Android tablet dies?

Server Version#: 1.13.5.5291
OS is Mint 19

I noticed that in my /Sync folder, there were a few movies (8 gigs worth?) that were just sitting there, some for almost 3 weeks. I only have 1 friend on my Plex server that I allow to Sync and he verified the movies were ones he tried syncing. He’s using a Kindle Fire HD.

When he was syncing, something went wrong. The tablet might have filled up or went offline before the job completed. I’m assuming these movies are waiting for the tablet to come back online so Plex can download them to it. But here’s the problem… his son decided to give the Fire tablet a bath and destroyed it. That tablet will never come back of course. To clear those movies in the /Sync folder, do I just stop Plex and delete the folder? Files?

I looked in the ‘Devices’ list on my Plex server and the only Android device I see is my wife’s Note 8. I don’t see anything in ‘Other’ either. Anyone know how a Fire HD shows up in Plex? I’m guessing if I delete that device, maybe that will purge those jobs?

yes, delete the job(s), then delete the device.

If the device is not connected to your own plex.tv account but your friend’s, it is he who needs to remove the device.

Otherwise the sync job will only get removed automatically in a few months by the server.
