Sync to mobile devices

Listed here as the symptom is identical on IOS and Android.

I’m syncing files for offline viewing triggering this by pressing download on either an iPad or Android phone

  • on the server the file conversion starts…
    The progress on the mobile device is half what the server displays (ie, if iPad or Android phone shows 24% - server shows 48%)
    When the server gets to 100% - it stops (though is not listed as complete)

the mobile device is of course then stopped at 50%.

The cycle is stopped whenever the mobile device times out and locks…

and on reopening, reverts back to 0%, waiting on server.
on the server, conversion then re-starts

This is 100% reproducible, and essentially means that I cannot sync anything to any device.

Are you storing files to internal storage or external storage?

I had MANY issues trying to store to my external storage (SD Card). Once I pointed it to internal storage, it all worked flawlessly! I also believe this is a known bug within the PLEX app as ive seen multiple threads regarding this on the forum :frowning:

Nope. This is identical on both android and iPad, neither with additional storage

How much media are you trying to sync at once? Can you try breaking up the sync jobs (ie: trying one movie at a time or a couple songs at a time)?
