Sync Transcode Directory - Point it somewhere else??

I, like many others it seems, have the need to point Plex Media Server somewhere other than the default for transcoded sync files. The setting in PMS for transcode directory is for transcoding realtime, not for what you are syncing. Can this be updated/changed (without using a symbolic link)?

I have a small SSD for my OS and when I am syncing a lot (loading up an iPad for lots of time in an airplane) it does what it can and then stops because of lack of space. I end up manually deleting the transcoded sync files (in “~Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache/Transcode/Sync”) already created to get the space back and then restart the sync for those that didn’t finish. Bluntly, this sucks.

In searching - lots - this seems to have been an issue for a while. Is this on any sort of official bug/feature list somewhere? How can we get the attention/input/answer from the devs? I don’t want to be a PITA but having to go delete stuff out of the directory so I can finish syncing really is a PITA.

Ok, now that I have that snarkiness out of my system… any help/insight/direction would be greatly appreciated.

I think this also ends up relating to the sync’s getting stuck and not restarting, which has been a long standing issue. As Plex Pass holders is their some sort of a bug log/feature roadmap that we can have access to?

Yeah, this is real show stopper for what is probably one of the better features plex offers. I absolutely love being able to easily sync, but not being able to direct this data to a storage location with sufficient space to do large sync jobs is a non-starter.

Basic OSX functionality is your friend.

Didn’t realize i posted to the mac server, but a hard sym link in windows seems to be working just fine. I had to redo all the sync media on my devices but given it barely worked before this was fine. Still would be nice just to point the server directly to a place rather than this work around.
