Synced content disappeared with latest updates (chromebook)

Nope. The issue still exists for me. Please post here if you find an answer.

Not sure if we encountered the same issue, but if experienced the same thing, but my issue was resolved once I cleared the cache and storage on the app, apparently it thought that I had synced data from other user accounts which it took issue with.

If you go to library in plex on the affected user and click the download button (located at the top of the library) it may give you an error about syncing content across multiple users not being supported, if so then we may in fact encountered the same issue.

I tried clearing cache and storage and the issue still persists. Need an updated app from Plex badly at this stage.

I was optimistic, but clearing cache and storage did not work for me. I also don’t see a download button in the library as you describe

Hi, is anyone able to sync music to their android phone

Not sure about music, but I can sync movies to my phone. But I’m having the same issue as other with no sync/download feature on my Chromebook

Really? Still no resolve for the issue of Sync/Download options no longer available on Android Plex app? I used the download option extensively until yesterday when it no longer appeared. Mobile app kinda pointless if you cant sync or download to watch without data connection.

Still not working on my Pixelbook, but it is still visible on my Android 9 phone. I ended up downloading Yatse for my Pixelbook. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.leetzone.android.yatsewidgetfree&hl=en_US&gl=US

I prefer the Plex interface, but Yatse has a download option that works well once you get over the learning curve. It is a full Plex media center interface - it’s not just for casting/remoting.

I do wish Plex would get it fixed though

Plex was working on my Pixelbook relatively recently (maybe within the last 6 months to a year)

I also have this problem with my chromebook.

I tried Yatse on my chromebook at it said it required the pay version to conn ct to plex.
Then I tried Yatse on my android phone and it connected to plex fine.
I am still in need of a workaround. Hopefully plex will fix this soon.

I totally agree. I prefer the Plex interface, but I needed to be able to use my Chromebook. I ended up paying for Yatse. Grrrr…

Any solution ever happen here? I’ve got this problem on 2 Chromebooks now.

Same here, brand new acer chromebook, tried uninstalling, clearing cache and data. Nothing. The app close when I try to access “Download & Sync” + Manage…

The problem lies in the Processor for the Chromebook. Intel based processors, the download link will not show up. But ARM processors, it will.

Would be great if a Plex developer could chime in and take a look at the app to allow it to work on Intel based Chromebooks.

I tried Yatse, but it’s messing up Google Docs for me. The app has a default loader set for docs.google.com addresses and it’s trying to open all my Google docs in Yatse rather than the browser and I can’t get it to stop.

It did use to work on my Pixelbook. So something changed to remove download ability on the Intel-based processors

Absolutely. I’ve been on Chromebooks solely for more than 5 years. I used to travel all the time with my Acer Chromebook, Pixellbook, Pixel Slate, etc. They all worked before.

Summoning @TeknoJunky @tom80H @Moussa @anon18523487 Could you help/explain how can we get more visibility on this bug please ? Can we provide logs or anything else ? For most of us the sync feature has been the main reason we bought plexpass!

P.S. Sorry for multiple tag, just trying to get traction

edit: added @aserwatuk post with some details:

Please don’t mass ping folks.

I don’t have anything to speak of on this, I only have shield for android tv, I don’t have any regular android devices, nor any pixel/chromebooks.

I do know that that the downloads function only works on mobile devices (ie not tv), so if for some reason the app thinks its not on a mobile device, then downloads functionality will be disabled.

In other words, you cannot have both android tv mode and downloads at the same time.

Having an issue with a couple Chromebooks. (Pixel Slate on Beta ChromeOS and an Acer Spin 13 on Stable ChromeOS). Neither of the Chromebooks, when I download Plex from Play Store are able to see the download button for Shows and Movies.
They log in and pair up jsut fine. I can see the Devices in the web console. But, if I try to push a sync to it from the Web, it’s not an available device to send it to. And within the client itself on the Chromebook it doesn’t have an option to download or sync.

The Android Phone (Oneplus 7 Pro Running Open Beta 2) is working just fine with Plex. I haven’t used it in months on there, but it’s working just fine to download shows and movies)

Running Plex Server from an Nvidia Shield (version=: 1.21.3.4014).
Android Phone Version : 8.13.0.22880
Chromebook Version: 8.13.0.22880 (Android version on the Chromebooks is 9)

Further update to this, I pulled an old iPad Mini 1st gen (still on WAY old iOS) and logged it into Plex. It got the download option no problem.

Another Update, it’s working with Yatse on the Chromebooks just fine.
