Using version 8.11.0.22186 of the Plex app on a Sony Xperia 5 II and my server version is 1.21.0.3711
I have synced my music playlists to my phone, I went to each playlist I wanted to download and synced them individually so that the little download button appears on the playlist. I verified that they did sync by first finding the files in my SD card as well as turning off wifi/data and playing individual tracks.
The playlist themselves however are not synced, whenever I go offline and navigate to playlists via “Downloads & Sync” and then “Music” the playlist tab is empty.
Is there a way to fix this as from looking on the forums this was apparently going to be fixed quie a while ago and it makes syncing for music useless. PlexAmp is NOT an option as it is extremely intrusive and does not allow playlist editing.
I think sync in general is pretty busted and unreliable.
I periodically delete android plex cache and data and have to resync because things get into a weird state. Did that again today. Latest annoyances:
playlist content syncs, but playlist itself does not (ie nothing shows under Downloads & Sync > Music > Playlists even though the actual tracks are synced and show in track/album/artist library views.
when in the Downloads & Sync section and hitting the back button, Plex exits instead of returning to home screen or previous Library that I was in.
attempting to queue for sync more than 3 item at a time (large classical collections), plex reports the item is queued for syncing but does not show these additional (beyond 3) items in sync status. It never syncs if I wait. If I go back to the item in the server library to try to sync again, it doesn’t show as downloaded but when I hit download icon I see the trash can icon is present indicating it is already synced. If I hit “save” nothing happens because it somehow thinks it is already synced (it isn’t). If I hit the trash can icon, plex crashes. After restarting plex I can sync this item again (no trash can icon).
Seems like both the user experience as well as test coverage both need to be re-evaluated in the syncing area on the android app.
