Over the past many months, and most likely over 18 months, The Downloading or Synching of playlist has been pathetic and riddled with so many problems that the offline playlists have been unusable. This is the second time that I have opened a problem, and the first time I never got a response. The lack of response to the original problem does not fill me with confidence that the effort I am putting in now will actually be noticed by Plex Support and that the problem will be fixed. I have also opened a problem with Billings as this is now a billing issue as a feature that IU planed to use by purchasing a Plex Pass is not working and has not been working for many many months.
The latest problem is that after synching the Playlists and trying to access them offline, the display shows “No Content”.
I have just generated a complete cycle for a test Playlist called “Test”, and provided all logs and some example screen shoots.
Step 1. I selected the Playlist “Test” and then using the down arrow on the top right hand corner of the screen.
Step 3. I then went into the downloaded list and select “G’s Music” then selected Playlists on the bottom right of the screen. The songs in the Playlist “Test” are located in the “G’s Music” set.
Do you ever read these or acknowledge the problems that are reported here?
I have had looked through a number of the forum entries and cannot find a means to really instigate the opening of a real problem incident, and cannot see how that helps me or the support group from properly helping each other.
I may be wrong, but it seems that if no new entries are not added to a given forum entry, then it is closed after 3 months. Is that correct?
So, since this Playlist problem has been an ongoing problem for many many months, my estimate is 12-18 months, how can I go about getting a response from Plex support so that we can help each other fix the problem?
I do look forward to actually hearing from Plex Support.
I as well have this issue. When I sync a Playlist in my ios app, the content is available in the “Library” tab of the “Music - Synced from <my server>” library, but the playlist entry is missing in the “Playlists” tab. I am very interested in a solution to this as I mostly use Playlists when listening to music.
Fellow Plex users - they are not going to fix this. And they’re not going to explain why or address the problem. This is the third or fourth thread on the topic.
We just have to decide if the service and app are still worth it.
I use PlexAmp for offline playlists. That’s the best workaround I’ve come up with.
@alekfelstiner, thank you for the information. I will check out PlexAmp to see if it will work for me.
As long as the user documentation doesn’t reflect this failure, I suspect threads are going to keep popping up. I myself am relatively new to Plex and the features of the Plex Pass, which is why I am only now posting about this issue.
PlexAmp does indeed sync playlists as I need them. After downloading a playlist in PlexAmp, there is an entry in the “Downloads” tab for the playlist and I can play the whole playlist, even in airplane mode. Thank you for the recommendation!
