Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: IOS 7.2.1
Since the middle of May 2020, downloaded/sync’d playlists have been missing on my IOS devices, both iPhone and iPad.
On accessing “Downloads & Sync”, the only options available are “Recommended” and “Library”. The “Playlist” option is missing.
This is not the first time that this problem has happened, and it is very annoying, as when anyone is away from their server, they would still like to play a playlist rather than their whole collection or individual songs or albums.
Just a note for folks - this is not a fix - that you can view playlists in the Plexamp app. You can’t view individual songs or select where you want to start, though - just playthrough or shuffle. So if you’re willing to use two apps, and have duplicate downloads, and only need straight playthrough/shuffle, this could be a workaround for you.
Keeping this alive. Screenshots show both my music library and a playlist syncing to my iPhone, but the playlist is not available anywhere. Previously, it was a tab along with Library and Recommended on the “Music - Synced from ” screen. It’s been about a year and a half since the last major issue with playlists. I guess it was time to break them again.
I’m experiencing same issue. The recent Plex app 7.5 brought back the “Playlist” option in Downloaded Content, but it’s empty. I’ve deleted iOS Plex App and reinstalled, then re-downloaded playlists. Media content is all there, just not the playlist info.
My Plex server (on Synology NAS) is at latest version…I update it as soon as new versions are available.
I’m having this issue as well. I’ve tried downloading the latest server update and the latest IOS app version as well as reinstalling the app on my phone and syncing my playlists again. The sync completes and I can view my synced library but no content shows on the ‘playlist’ tab even though I synced a playlist to get the media there in the first place
Plex app is on version 7.10 (for iOS) and this problem still exists. This is one of the most basic features that I use. I download a music playlist on my iPhone and then I want to play the playlist. All my playlists are available over network, but disappear when I download to my device. Please fix!!!
I have a very similar problem (though, I’m on Android). After some clicking back and forth, sometimes the playlist will finally show up, however, when I try and play any music that’s been “downloaded”, either the app completely crashes, or an error message displays and the songs are skipped.
Here is my thread on it, along with attached logs for any Plex support people. Are they even active in here?
So, I found that the most recent Android update 8.10.0.21911 was what removed all my offline playlists. It seems like they are trying to point to the server. If I disconnect the phone from data I open the playlist tab and it asks to be connected to the internet net. After some testing, I found that 8.9.0.21537 worked perfect and brought back my playlist function. I have disabled auto-updates of the Plex app for now. Below is a link to a Plex Android previous versions repository with 8.9.0.21537 (9th November 2020) available for download.
Same thing happening here after the recent Android update. No playlists showing but all the media is still on the device.
Plex, what is going on? Some sort of response would be appropriate for paid users…
Seems Plex are ignoring us. The update last week is what wiped my synced stuff. But now it seems it has been going on for months and Plex are ignoring the situation, very shabby indeed.
Another issue for a different thread, but while we’re talking about shabby support by Plex. I believe there is no option on the Windows App to switch the sync download location… like wtf? I thought I was missing something. Many of us have small SSD’s and lager hard drives, but low and behold you can’t change the save location. I’m considering looking at alternative options for my media at this stage.
