Good morning
On the server side:
- QNAP TS251
- Ubuntu server 18.04 (no QNAP crap software)
- 8 Go RAM
- HDD 2 x 3To internal + 1 x3 To usb external
On the client side:
Samsung galaxy A8
Both have the latest versions available
I just can’t have my video files synchronized properly on my phone.
When ever I want to send a file to the phone, It gets converted before, and it takes a long long time…
I tried to create an “optimized version” for mobile phones, but no luck, the server still wants to convert before sending to the phone.
Before buying a lifetime licence for plex, I used to copy manually the files to the phone, then use VLC to watch them. Quick, efficient, but without the lovely plex’s interface.
Some facts to consider.
-
As far as I know, synchronize does not mean convert.
-
A mobile phone is meant to be used out of home, but since cellular data is expensive, it’s not possible to watch the movie with streaming.
-
My server does not have enough powerful cpu to transcode video files fast enough.
-
What is the point to transcode a file that plays perfectly on the phone? Moreover the transcoded has a bigger size than the original.
Do somebody have a workaround for this or is there any hidden feature somewhere?
Thanks a lot
