Hi all,
I upgraded to Plex Pass primarily for the offline syncing feature. I have tried the lowest quality as well as original quality and it always ends in the same result.
It gets to 50% pretty quickly then stops at “Downloading”. If I wait several hours, it’ll be at 70%.
I’m on the same wifi network as the Plex server and the app shows Plex is nearby so it should be pretty fast to download. I also verified that the server can send data with a higher throughput by using scp from a desktop on the network.
This is on both iPhone and Android devices.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Are your devices awake when you start the sync? If your devices are asleep, your os will control if it will download in the background. Best is to have your device plugged into power and the screen on.
Sorry for late response. It actually ended up being that my devices are on a different VLAN than the server so they were considered internet devices and restricted by my set upload speed.
I fixed that in the advanced options and syncing started working.
However, now I’m having another issue with syncing. Latest iPhone app and latest Plex server. Only difference is I just migrated the Plex server to a new server. Syncing is stuck at “Waiting” it isn’t transcoding or downloading.
iPhone says it’s waiting on the server, server says it’s waiting on the iPhone.
Did you start the sync before you migrated the server? If so, the migration might have changed something. Did you copy over everything over to the new server? You might have to recreate that sync job.
