Synology 918+ - Plex Movie Posters missing - just Screenshots

Hi All,

I have been through tons of posts on here, completely deleted my Plex instance and re-installed multiple times and tried everything under the sun but as of a few weeks ago all the Movie posters have disappeared and I cannot work out why. The TV shows all load correctly as they should but movies which all used to work, no longer work… Can someone help?

Thanks

Thanks for the fast reply but unfortunately this did not work. I am assuming I followed the process correctly… I ran each command one at a time, they took quite some time to run and then did a meta data refresh. Nothing changed.

I use volume 1
My shared folder is called Multimedia so for the command, basically I just replaced the your media folder with Multimedia

find ./Multimedia -type d -exec chmod 755 {} ;
find ./Multimedia -type f -exec chmod 644 {} ;
chown -R admin:users Multimedia

Please do the following:

  1. Settings - Server - General - Verify DEBUG logging enabled, VERBOSE logging disabled
  2. Go to the library section which contains the videos shown above
  3. “Refresh all metadata” for that section
  4. Wait until it finishes scanning and attempts to fetch data
  5. Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs
  6. Attach the ZIP file it gives you. I’ll take a look and see what / why it’s misbehaving

Don’t necessarily want to share the whole fine, happy to copy some lines in - which file do you want some lines from. i have looked through the System Log and scanner log and in all of them its finding matches but just not applying them…

Hi All,

Having the same problem again - So a few months ago, nothing I did actually did anything, one morning I just got up and all the Album art had downloaded so I left it. Then a week ago, I added some GoPro videos as part of the "Other Videos category and at the same time added some more movies to the folder and suddenly none of the new album art was downloading anymore.

I got fed up, uninstalled Plex, deleted all plex related stuff (folders, users) from my Synology NAS, reinstalled and rescanned and now have the same problem again - No album art…

Does no one else have this problem, surely I can’t be the only one.

Thanks,

Log files?

I am having the same issue. I am a new user and installed Plex today and tried everything under the sun (also using 918+) and i cannot get Movie artwork.

HI, can i send you my logs as i am having the same issue as above and on the 918+ also

Thanks

You may PM me the log files. Please verify:

  1. Settings - Server - General - DEBUG only, No VERBOSE
  2. Rescan / Refresh to make certain any errors are in the log files
  3. Upon completion, Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs
  4. Attach ZIP and Link to this thread in PM

I ended up starting from scratch and found a bug. I stopped plex plex, uninstalled it it, deleted the user which deleted the plex folder. I rebooted the NAS as well as the Modem and Router.

Then the first time around, I reinstalled plex and went through the set up process. During the add folder section, I added both Movies and TV shows. After scanning for 24 hours (took forever for some reason). Again, all Movie art was missing but TV Art was there (never had any problems with TV).

So I went through the exact same process as above again, uninstalling, rebooting etc.

Once all that was complete, I went through the set up process again but this time only added the Movie folder and nothing else. After approx. 6 hours it was done and bang, all Movie art was there with only two missing. Refreshed all Meta Data again and the last two downloaded. I went ahead and added TV shows and now everything works again.

Thanks,
