Synology as Server?

I just got my Raspberry Pi (Model B ). After some messing around I got the keyboard working, wifi, and SD card with RasPlex.

I signed in from RasPlex and did so just fine. When I scroll through the different sections (Preferences, Shutdown, Channels, etc) it doesn't show anything from my server. I do not see any content that I have on my Synology Plex server. The only interesting thing I can do is control RasPlex with my iPhone.

I tried manually entering the server address (local) as well but that didn't work.

I'm on 0.2.2

Any ideas?

did you try rebooting? if your media sections is not showing the i would guess that you have no network.

Yeah I tried rebooting but that didn't seem to work. At the top left it shows the device/server that it's connected to. It usually will say my server's name...sometimes it just says my iPhone's if I'm controlling it through that.

Everything connects, it lets me log into my Plex account & shows both ethernet & wifi connections.

did you try rebooting your sinology server? when i have had your type of problem it has always been because the server is not visible.

For as much as it's worth. I'm using a Synology (DS 412) running Plex and a pi with Rasplex. Works fine!

is your server reachable from other clients than the PI i.e iPhone/Ipad or PC client? Can you "airplay" Plex content from your iPhone?

Verify if the option “Require authentication on local networks” is disabled, in advanced options of myPlex.

Sorry for the slow reply. School started so I’ve been a bit busy.

I’ve tried restarting Synology and all it does is show my server name at the top right. I have tried logging in but that doesn’t give me the Sections. I also tried disabling the “require authentication” option, but that just caused RasPlex not to load up passed the “Version 0.2.2 RasPlex” boot logo.
