Synology DS1019+ constantly buffering (hardware acceleration on). 3770K without had smooth running?!

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2058
Player Version#: 2.1.3

I have been using Plex as a free user for years. My 3770K (with good GPUs) have been running the server.

I have been able to run 4K / HEVC Main 10 HDR / TrueHD 7.1 videos with zero issues.

Now after installing the Synology and using all devices wired (Cat6 400MHz with 2Gbit/s link aggregiated NAS + Router), I first had the green boxes / lines issue that I managed to fix by deleting the other .so driver (iHD?)

Now even with Premium Plex and hardware acceleration on, I cannot run the 4k videos. It first buffers for 10s or so, then plays few seconds and buffers again.

Extremely disappointed. :frowning:

I was under the impression that DS1019+ would be able to handle even multiple 4k streams at same time…
…but not even one?

Edit: Found out that SRT and PGS-subtitles cause the issue, but is there no way to get subtitles then?

Edit 2: Okay, it’s the transcoded subtitles causing the issue. There seem to be three subtitles options on the movie I was testing on. The upmost one is transcoded and ones under it (for SRT only). PSG (not familiar) was transcoded at all times. Thing is, all the subtitles just show as (English - SRT), although topmost was burnt on the video…

Is there a way to prevent the NAS for transcoding subs and by default selecting ones that do not need to be rendered on video?

Before becoming too extremely disappointed,

Please verify DEBUG logging is on, VERBOSE logging is off.
Start Playback and play for 30 seconds.
Stop Playback
Wait 30 more seconds for logs to quiesce

I am good as the issue was the subtitle rendering.

Now, I just have a minor feature request.

The LG Plex player is unable to show which subtitles are burnt and which are not. Quite annoying to trial and error it out.

Ideal option would be a setting on the Plex server, which would not allow rendering of the subtitles and/or hide options from the Plex player.
