Synology: DSM 7 Installation Archive -- Archived from main thread

@ChuckPa, firstly thank you for the incredible lengths you’ve gone to, and continue to go to for everyone here.
I wanted to let you know about an “anomaly” I experienced while following your steps, in case you need to check or adjust something.

I’m following through your migration instructions and I had an issue at step 5, installation, but not what you expect.
It installed correctly instantly. Didn’t appear to have an issues at all and it came up with the “successful” message straight away. I was waiting to set permissions on the new Plex Media Server Shared folder but nothing happened.

I tried to open Plex, but as expected nothing there, and I think it tried to install a new PMS.
I waited in case it was migrating, but the NAS drives weren’t doing anything, and there was no migration.log file.
So I set the permissions for the Ples Media Server user anyway. Still nothing.
Gave up waiting and followed through your steps to uninstall and erase. I double checked the permissions, and left them alone as they were correct.
I Reinstalled PMS, and this time it went through fine, did the migration and had the log file all as expected. Didn’t have the issue with permissions as they were already set.

I’m now installed and migrated successfully. Checked Plex and all my lbraries appear to be ok, with all my half viewed items still as they were.
Thankfully I only have a small library so it didn’t take long at all.

Just thought you might like to know.
Oh btw, my versions are:
DSM 7.0.1-42218
PlexMediaServer-1.25.2.5319-c43dc0277-x86_64_DSM7.spk

Just one question: Can I now delete the old “Plex” Shared folder?
