There is no Plex user in DSM 7. That’s all obsolete.

In DSM 7.0-41890 and above, with PMS 1.24.2.4973 and above, our final configuration worked out being:

1. System Internal User: PlexMediaServer which gets added by DSM when the package is installed.

2. DSM-managed shared folder PlexMediaServer which DSM creates at installation then maintains the permissions of every time PMS starts
