This is actually pretty easy.

  1. Create the “Plex” shared folder again
  2. Create sub folders “Library/Application Support”
  3. From your copy of PlexMediaServer, COPY Plex Media Server into Application Support (just as if it were DSM 6 again)
  4. Make certain you do not have a PlexMediaServer shared folder.
  5. Install Plex – Letting it take as long as needed to “Migrate” (Import) again.
  6. Hopefully, you remember enough of the Migration Instructions to set the permissions again

In the future, if you use HyperBackup to make your backups, you can let it restore the PlexMediaServer shared folder. It’ll save you a lot of time and will do it right automatically
