Synology NAS DS218+ Plex version?

My Synology DS218+ NAS has a native Plex server app; but whenever I open it, it says - “New version available”, but the NAS itself with its own app management and update service, does not offer this update. The current version is Version 3.57.1, and the upgrade offered is 1.13.8.5395. The former must be Synology’s own internal versioning?
Choosing upgrade, downloads “PlexMediaServer-1.13.8.5395-10d48da0d-x86_64.spk”.
(Synology does support manual installations.)
Following various posts online and in the forums - I did install it - but now Plex fails - Cannot find itself as a server. And all players then (of course ) also fail - Cannot find Server.
So I did an uninstall on the NAS, and then let it reinstall from the Synology version - and it is running again.
???

What you’re seeing is the player version (3.57.1).
Settings - Server - General will show you which server version you have installed. This is what you’re being offered to upgrade.

Should you choose to upgrade, it is safe to upgrade on top of the existing version.
Should you ever choose to downgrade, per Synology Package Center rule, uninstall first. I keep your Plex share (your metadata) safe when uninstalling and find it again with the next install.

Thanks for the clarification;
So I have server version: Version 1.13.4.5271.
But as noted above, the manual upgrade to the newer version - gave a non-working result, so I did have to revert. But, I’m very grateful that all of the settings and metadata were saved and restored!!

I also own a Synology (DS1815+) . The thoughts of rebuilding the metadata are NOT pleasant.
Given some cases where the Plex share gets moved, I had to be flexible. This is what I came up with.
