Synology NAS - Trying to set up for the first time - Setup Wizard won't run

Hello,

I’m trying to set up a Plex Media server on my Synology NAS following both YouTube videos and the Quick Start guide from Plex. My setup stops however at step 2 in the Quick Start guide:

The very first time the server runs, it should launch a browser to sign you in (or create a new account) and start the Setup Wizard.

I was asked to create a new account, but the Setup Wizard do not start. It does not appear to see any media servers running…

I was hoping for some assistance in this… Thank you

Server Version#: 1.18.3.2156-349e9837e
Player Version#: I do not know

  1. Are you setting it up locally or from a remote location through Synology’s remote desktop?
  2. IP address of the Syno?
  3. IP address of the workstation/laptop?
  4. The server will have created basic logging in the Plex share (Unhide this in Control Panel - Shared Folders) . Would you please make a ZIP of the Logs directory and attach them?

1 - I am physically at the same location as the NAS, but I am actually connecting to it via my own domain http://e*****************e.no:32400/web/index.html

I have opened port 32400.

2 - Synology IP is 192.168.1.141

3 - Windows 10 PC IP is 192.168.1.45

4 - I do not find any “unhide” option in the Control Panel - Shared Folders. I looked for them in the file station, but could not find any logs there either… Please advice?

Sorry for my ambiguity.

Control Panel - Shared Folders - Select the Plex share - EDIT - Permissions tab.

Give your username R/W permission and save.

Now you can see it in File Station.

Thank you!

Please find my logs attached

I’ve scrambled the URL and email address for safety.

You can’t set it up when remote, through a VPN, Synology remote desktop or any external FQDN. If that is your FQDN, PMS won’t know it’s yours until after you add the certificate.

Scroll down to On a Different Network (follow up pages have “Putty” examples if needed)

Thank you Chuck.

I do not know how, I did not really do anything, but suddenly the Setup Wizard appeard and allowed me to add libraries.

My music and films appears in the Flex app for iPhone when I am on my home wifi.

Now the next few problems is that the server is not available outside my network, nor does it show up on my HEOS system or LG smart TV… I`ll probaby start a new topic on the forums regarding these issues.
