I know movies can be tagged in the filename with movie ID’s, but what about collections? Is there a way to tag collections with the correct TMDB ID?
I don’t think so. How would you use that?
If you get Info / View XML on a movie that’s in a Collection, you can see the guid="plex://collection/5ec30299eae540004056318b" for it, but I don’t think the TMDB ID is exposed.
Ok, thanks. In Emby you can tag the collections with the TMDB ID number so it pulls in metadata, posters, etc. Makes it a little cleaner and guarantees a good match.
If you enable automatic collection creation for a library in combination with the (new) Plex Movie agent, Plex will automatically create collections linked to your movies.

Yep, I saw that, thanks. I was hoping to also be able to connect my manually created collections to TMDB collections. I guess I could delete my manually created collections and have it automatically created by Plex. that would link it to TMDB right?
Yes - I did exactly that. When any member movie is refreshed, the collection will be created, assuming you have it enabled.
Check to confirm there is a TMDB collection before you delete ones you have created. The rules are pretty strict about Sequels, and Only Sequels.
