Tautulli - Monitor your Plex Media Server

@TimSomers - Attach your logs (attach file if more than 2-3 lines, don’t just paste in tons of lines)

Please don’t attach files.

And post a screenshot of the error. Just saying something has an error doesn’t get us anywhere.

Here are the screenshots of the html file that’s created…

My logs show nothing accept proper function for sending out the newsletter. Nothing new to be gleaned from them.

You haven’t enabled Image Hosting.

When the newsletter was working, I wasn’t using images either. It was still displaying correctly (without images). Are images now a requirement? Where before if you were happy without images, that’s cool.

Not it’s not a requirement. It will be fixed (already fixed on the nightly branch).

using a non-Gmail SMTP server with no TFA, with login credentials that work perfectly fine when I run PlexEmail. Am I literally the only experiencing this issue?

So far, yes, likely.
You even stated you tried Gmail somewhere in a previous post. If you can’t get THAT working, following the Wiki setup instructions for a Gmail account, something is wrong somewhere on your end that none of us have encountered before, and unfortunately, the logs don’t really help. It’s almost as though you, your ISP, malware, or overprotective web proxy, is preventing the connection.

I guess the part that’s the most infuriating to me is that my PlexEmail script works just fine with the same login credentials and SMTP information. I don’t know anything about Python, or scripting, so I’m having a hard time understanding why PlexEmail gives me no errors, but Tautulli returns that error message.

I’m going to assume that this is a Python issue. So my question is: How can this be possible? I believe (I could be wrong) that both are using the same version of Python, so to my non-educated thinking this means that there is something particular in the Tautulli script that is the cause of this error. I’m assuming @JonnyWong16 is no longer interested in troubleshooting this, so is there anyone else here who has some Python knowledge that can shed any light on this? I agree with @JamminR that PlexEmail’s user friendliness is lacking, and that Tautulli’s user experience is leagues ahead, so this is killing me.

So, just wait it out until the new wide update comes out? No sweat. Appreciate the help.

v2.1.9 (2018-05-21)
Notifications:
New: Added “live” to notification parameters.

Does this refer to Plex DVR Live TV notifications? If so are they activated by default?

No idea what you are asking. It’s just a {live} parameter which is a 0 or a 1.

Thanks. What does the ‘live’ parameter do exactly?

Indicates if it’s live TV. 0 = No, 1 = Yes.

That’s exactly what I’m after

I currently have one rule to exclude notifications for my user account ‘User is not Trial_Master’

What parameters do I use to set up a rule for all users (expect me) to notify when live TV is being watched? I’m currently not receiving any notifications when someone is watching live TV.

Does anyone have a working setup to notify on live tv streaming?

You don’t need anything. Live TV should notify by default.

Mine isn’t working that way? What can I do to fix that?

It’s not that I’m no longer interested. I don’t know what is wrong, and I don’t see anything wrong on my end. I have no way to test it unless you give me access to your email (which is probably a really bad idea).

Just joined and posted.

@JonnyWong16
How would I go about clearing all saved data(database, history, and whatnot) and starting Tautulli over.

@NewPlaza - Shut down Tautulli. Delete tautulli.db. Restart Tautulli.
If you want to totally start over with all settings gone too, delete config.ini
Restart Tautulli.
(It’s possible Tautulli has failsafe and could pull from backup - if that occurs, shut down again, delete all files from your \backups folder, then perform the above steps)

Ah, thank you. That did the trick to restore the functionality of logging of history.

@newplaza - you may have gotten away with restoring from a backup. It’s possible the DB got corrupt.
But that isn’t what you asked.
If you still have your backups, copy one from around the time history stopped working to tautulli.db
The filenames contain the dates.

That’s quite possible cause the logs showed many “database is malformed” or similar. I don’t think it will be possible to use one of the backup because my problem stared 12 days ago. It looks like the backups only go back three or so days(I know I can change this in settings)… But I’m not to worried though as I didn’t lose much. The only “custom” thing I ever did in Tautulli was rename peoples username. Worst comes to worst, I do still have the old DB and can still access most of the contents with 3rd party apps, so if I really need stuff from it, I can… No big deal… Besides I was wanting the “fresh look” again, lol.

But thank you for the info though.

My Tautylli instance suddenly started throwing websocket connection errors last night, it looks like an SSL mismatch. So it could be a Plex issue? Just wondered if anyone else was seeing this/there’s a known workaround. Example from the log (I changed my guid but not the wildcard guid):

2018-05-26 23:14:04 - WARNING :: Thread-23 : Failed to access uri endpoint /status/sessions. Is your server maybe accepting SSL connections only? @MasterChiefmas - I’ve seen similar when IP changed. Tried restarting Tautulli, PMS, and/or router?
If not that, try fetching new token within Tautulli.
Some troubleshooting steps found here - https://github.com/Tautulli/Tautulli-Wiki/wiki/Frequently-Asked-Questions#q-tautulli-cant-connect-to-my-plex-server-locally-with-use-ssl-checked - Question may not exactly fit your issue, but gives similar steps to try.

@newplaza - if you want to try to fix your old DB if you still have it, see this FAQ - method 2 (since backups didn’t go back far enough)

hi, how can i install this if i’m running plex on my netgear Nighthawk X10 (r9000)

Thanks but I’m not to interested in restoring. Friendly usernames and IP history is all I ever change/use and I have pretty much schooled the offenders on my server. So, they get a clean slate moving forward.
