Tautulli - Monitor your Plex Media Server

Finally back from my trip to India and can access my system again. I’ve tried restarting applications a few times and still don’t see anything in the recently added on the homepage. It searches for it:

Then always remains blank:

Although the log file shows things have been added:

I’ll PM you a link to the full log file.

You didn’t answer my question.

Does it show up on your Plex Web dashboard?

That solved it. I had the home page items on Plex turned off because wifey doesn’t like how cluttered it makes the page when you open Plex. So it won’t work for me on Tautulli.

Oh well.

Which leads to two interesting points;

  1. We’ve seen this question asked a few times in the past - would it be difficult to show recently added in Tautulli even if Plex has the dashboard hidden?
I imagine this being a wanted feature - Plex does get cluttered, where as you have made a nice UI.

  2. If overly difficult to make it happen (due to Plex API), perhaps a mention of it needs to be placed in the FAQ.
Q: “Why are my Recently added not showing, even though logs indicate new items, as does Plex?”
A: “You must have recently added hubs in Plex listed for the libraries you want monitored”

(To be honest, I’m not even sure how to hide the hubs - but, I’m sure it’s in the Support articles somewhere)

I would have to check every library and combine them into one list and sort them in the correct order. That’s a lot of API calls rather than just one API call for recently added.

Done.

I have an issue with 3 of my 6 libraries.

When I select one of these libraries in Tautulli and then select “Media Info” the “Fetching Rows” popup remains without any results being displayed. The other options within Libraries, Profile and History, work fine.

Looking at the Tautulli Logs an error occurs but I do not understand the error message :

WebUI :: /library?section_id=1#tab_tabs-mediainfo : Uncaught TypeError: Illegal invocation. (jquery-2.1.4.min.js:4)

Can anyone interpret this error for me and give me advice on how to resolve the issue. As this works for 3 of my libraries I presume I have some items in these3 libraries that is upsetting Tautulli.

Thanks

Clear your media info cache.

http://localhost:8181/delete_media_info_cache?section_id=X

Thanks for that. I’m not up with coding so can I just check -

Localhost is the IP address of my server.

Is the last x just an x or should it be a number relating to a specific library.?

Thanks again

The http://localhost:8181 is whatever address you use to access Tautulli.

The section_id=X is in the URL when you visit the library page.

Excellent - Works like a dream now. Thanks for your help. Tautulli is such a great addition to plex.

Why do half the notifications from Tautulli come up with Tautulli in the text, and half say “PlexPy”? Its been happening for months, even after many updates to the software.

You haven’t updated your notification text.

I miss the ‘lol’ tag on posts.

Anyway to add this as a plugin on plex so it can be viewed on their instead of having to check it directly from my server?

None what-so-ever.
It’s 100% a standalone app, and requires Python calls and functions not available with Plex channel API.

How do I update Tautulli? Every time I try in the GUI there is never an update. The version on GitHub is newer then what I have (2.1.14 is current, I have 2.0.22). I don’t see anything in the FAQ the specifically says how to do it if you’re just upgrading normally.

Edit: Figured it out. Open Terminal, navigate to Tautulli folder (in my case “cd /Applications/PlexPy”) then “git pull origin master”.

Thats my question. How do i get that all to update?

What? You’re telling me that every user has to go in and change all of the references to an old name of a program?

If you don’t want to change it then just delete the notification agent and create a new one.
