How do you uninstall Tautulli from Ubuntu? Is it as simple as deleting the directory /opt/Tautulli
Just reinstalled Tautulli (after a server upgrade) and was nice to discover the new tutorial on web interface at first start ! There is just one thing very confusing: the wizard states you can restore an existing db backup once wizard done ! which is completely wrong as the Import feature in settings list only PlexWatch and Plexivity for import !! Did I miss something ?
Hum looks like Tautulli is similar to Plex, donât expect any support from editor, good luck on your own
So as it might help other people here reinstalling Tautulli (due tu update of os, change of computerâŠ), skip the wizard at start of fresh install of Tautulli ! Kill the service if you have started it, overwrite the tautulli.db and config.ini with your backup, apply correct owner/rights on it and then restart tautulli service and you are all good
Or you can follow how they want issues and feature requests to be submitted from here: https://github.com/Tautulli/Tautulli scroll down to the section Issues & Feature Requests section.
@SwiftPanda16 mentioned in this thread that he doesnât monitor the Plex forums and has turned off notifications since he gets mentioned so much.

Thanks for clarification but Tautulli being now a Plex âproductâ I would expect support in Plex forumsâŠ
Yes you can get support here, but these forms are the slowest place to get a response from me. Youâre complaining about support less than 24h after you posted your question. Have you considered timezones and maybe we are all asleep? If you want a fast response, use Discord or Reddit where you will get a response within minutes (if weâre not asleep). If you donât have a Discord account, you can enter the chat as a guest from the âSupportâ link in the dropdown settings menu in Tautulli.
Also, your question was already answered in the FAQ.
As far as I know, Tautulli is still a 3rd party product that is not connected officially to Plex and only connected by the fact that it monitors activity for the server. However, there is nothing that states JonnyWong16 or any of the other contributors or people that offer support to the software should support it on the official Plex forums.
If they created this software as just users of Plex that never visited the forum but had it public on GitHub and it became a hit without them ever mentioning it on the Plex forums, that shouldnât mean they need to all of a sudden come to the Plex forums to give support. They have their methods of giving support and those should be used. They also took the time to create the FAQs that JonnyWong16 linked to that end users should utilize to try and figure out simple issues themselves. I myself actually used the FAQ when I transferred my server from a FreeNAS system to a CentOS 7 system running Plex and Tautulli via Docker. And because of the FAQ I was able to easily go from PlexPy on my old system to Tautulli on the new one and keeping all my history.
And finally, like JonnyWong16 mentioned, you waited less than 24 hours for a response (7 hours to be closer to the actual time). For an open source, free software, that is not a reasonable time frame to expect a response.

Your frustration with your own ignorance of helpful links of a release should not be aimed towards the developers and people who help support the release.
As already stated by Jonnny and Shark2k, Your question was clearly answered in one of the many FAQs, linked from the Tautulli Gear hover menus, and settings âGeneralâ of Tautulli web, and, waiting less than 24 hours in a release thread forum for an answer indicates more of an impatience issue on your part than an issue with anyone here.
Before you grow frustrated at yourself and attempt to blame anyone here further, we recommend you become familiar with ALL the answers to Frequently Asked Questions, not just the one specific to your issue already answered by Jonny.
oki and if so why that thread is still open here with people posting in it ? Wouldnât it be helpful to close that thread to avoid any mistakes ? and side note: top page of FAQ page on github lists Plex forums as support channel:roll_eyes: GitHub - Tautulli/Tautulli-Wiki: Wiki for Tautulli
Well as I found the solution by myself I thought it would be a good idea to share it ![]()
NO !!! My main question was about the new wizard when you install Tautulli that makes a wrong assertion about fact you can import your db after end of wizard (but you can in fact only import other formats than tautulli db !!). It sholud be reworded I guess to clearly states itâs only external formats that can be imported later or add Tautulli db format in import filter in Tautulli !
No one said that you cannot get support here. I even said above (and you quoted me saying it) that you can receive support on the forums. The problem is you complaining about not receiving support and having unrealistic expectations on a timeframe for a response.
Except youâre wrong. No where in the wizard does it say you can import a Tautulli database. It only mentions PlexWatch and Plexivity.
Hi @SwiftPanda16,
First of all, thanks for letting us use the excellent piece of software you developed and thanks for maintaining and improving it continuesly.
Donât focus on haters and those who keep complaining.
If ever you have time and interest; here is a suggestion of an addition in Tautulli.
Woud it be possible to edit the fields on this page here?
I would like to replace {title} by {show_name}{season_num00}{episode_num00} only for Episodes?
Another option would be to create two similar notifications with respectives conditions depending on the library type but I didnât find it in the list.
Thanks @SwiftPanda16
I wasnât sure if tags would be of help for me
Can I use this structure here?
Or do I have to split into 2 duplicated notifications?
One for movie and one for Tv Shows
What does it show in the text preview when you enter that structure? If it shows what you want, then itâs correct. If it doesnât show what you want, then itâs incorrect.
Hi,
I want to install Tautuli on my DS216 play which doesnât support Docker.
Any workaround to do it?
Google did not help!
Edit : Found out easy Way.
There is an app called plexpy custom in DSM. From there, you can install Tautuli and access it through port 8010.
@SwiftPanda16 I just want to post and tell you how awesome tautulli is and the MQTT notification really helped me out with my home theater automation. Im using the notification to trigger lights to dim and turn on when I start playing or pause a movie. Im also using the {aspect_ratio} parameter to trigger the masking system of my theater screen. Homeassisant is setup to monitor the MQTT topic and when it sees the aspect ratio of the status of a movie playing on the exact player I want monitored everything just runs without an issue! Its Fantastic!
Well, I almost feel stupid for this to be the 1,000 post here butâŠI just changed my Plex password and had to get everything within my server to work right. I am out of town and my wife says that Tautulli isnât connecting. I am sure it is the password. After looking at the FAQ ( https://github.com/Tautulli/Tautulli-Wiki/wiki/Frequently-Asked-Questions#general-q3) do I just change it in this file and restart everythingâŠor is there something else I need to do?
Tautulli password is not your Plex password. Tautulli uses a token to connect. Changing your Plex password invalidates the token.
ThanksâŠat least I âtriedâ to use the FAQ
Updated Tautulli automatically to v2.1.28, Even looking in setting says Im on the latest version v2.1.28. But after updating & restarting Tautulli, Its saying I need need to update with this message
(A newer version of Tautulli is available!
You are 1 commit behind.
Update or Dismiss)
Clicking update obviously does nothing because Im already on the latest update, Except notify me that thereâs a âUpdateâ. It just loops this. Having no other issues.
