Tautulli - Monitor your Plex Media Server

Fixed! Update nag is gone. Thank you!

Don’t know if someone requested this before. Would it be possible to show transcodings for sync items? Just like content that gets played right now. Similar to the new dashboard that plex shows. Would be great!

Please search, and if not found, use https://feathub.com/Tautulli/Tautulli

Tautulli has shown this for ages over in the Synced Items tab. For the longest time it was the only way to see who a conversion was running for (if Plex even shows this now).

Sorry i expressed myself in a misleading way. My wish would be to see the transcodings for sync in the activity tab. Even though it is not a play activity.

I am using the following notification text for new TV series’ that are added to the server, but when its sent out, its not finding the right info. I have:

{thetvdb_url}
@now

But when its published, I’m getting:
Capture

Even though the TV series is found in the TVDB when Plex does its scan, and I can find the show name on the TVDB if I search for the series.

You need to check if Tautulli is sending the correct URL or Facebook is retrieving the wrong URL. You can see what URL was sent by Tautulli in View Logs > Notification Logs.

Couldn’t find any info on this:
I’m running Tautulli in docker on a QNAP, and I want it to notify me of updated PMS versions (running directly on the QNAP).
But when I enable ā€œMonitor Plex Updatesā€ , the only platforms I’m offered are Ubuntu and Fedora variants.
As the Plex package for QNAP is QNAP specific I would assume it would need its own option for the version check.
Is this because I’m running Tautulli in docker, or is this just the correct version check?

Which Docker container are you using?

I know the Linuxserver.io version is using Ubuntu Bionic as the base, so you aren’t using the QNAP version.

I’m using the Official: https://hub.docker.com/r/tautulli/tautulli

Sorry, that’s what I get for quickly reading.

I was thinking the PMS was dockerized but you clearly stated that you are running PMS directly on your QNAP, so my thinking was completely wrong.

You’d probably be better off trying Discord or Reddit for support as they are more responsive there.

Will do, thanks! :slight_smile:

Well @SwiftPanda16 the aspect ratio piece was working perfectly till the latest update to Plex it looks like they have made a change and it’s no longer able to pull the info from the media. Any way to get this working again?

If not could there be a way to add the aspect ratio to the tautulli database so that when the media starts playing it can post that to the mqtt server with the notification. Even if i have to manually go through and add the aspect ratio to each movie at least i will insure my automation works with watching movies.

Analyze your media.

Ah so I originally tried to analyze my media and that did not work but repairing the database and then running the analyze media tool fixed this. Thanks for the help!

Is it possible to consider the rating (age) in the newsletters to create a newsletter for kids?

Assuming you didn’t separate kids media into a different library (otherwise you world be asking this question).

You can customize the template with some knowledge of Python/Mako.

I already have my own template and adapted it. I mainly work with PHP & JS, very rarely with C#.
The differences to Python are still noticeable, despite training with pseudocode and similar structure…

But the second link helps me. There I find the information I was looking for. Thank you.
