teletext on all the time

I have a HDHomeRun with 4 tuners, and tried using plex to record some show that was running at 9:30PM-10:30PM.

Everytime it records, it shows the teletext running. Actually everytime i try to view anything, it does that, no matter the hour.

I initially thought it was something related to scanning for program guide , but it seems it might be something else, since i don’t see any progress in the program guide section that would suggest it’s doing that. I also tried setting a single channel to the DVR for it to do it’s scanning just so that i might shorten the time of updating necessary.

I have set the schedule maintenance period from 3AM to 7AM and checked to do it’s refresh of program guide data then.

So what’s with the teletext thing? It only shows up if i try to view a channel on plex, If i do that on other apps (ie HDHomerun, channels, VLC) it’s not happening

Plex thinks Teletext is a form of subtitles. If you turn off subtitles in your client, it should disappear.

Where should i turn off subtitles from? I don’t see that option in the live tv section. Also, to get a better idea of what i see, check out this video https://youtu.be/gVTMuIBDX3A

actually i found this topic which suggests to set subtitles manually everywhere which seems to get the job done, but is there another way? https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/292193/turn-off-subtitles-live-tv
