Terramaster F2-421 NAS

Hi, I’m shortly going to ‘migrate’ to the NAS. it appears quite difficult to do this from my windows 10 pc. Not really a problem I suppose. Can both servers co-exist, if so, how would my LG TV 49UH850V-ZA deal with this?

Thanks.

You can have multiple servers for your Plex account.
Just make sure you don’t actually “migrate” in that case or your new server will share the machine id of the old one and appear to your clients to be the same server.

If you have multiple servers you might need to customize the main navigation to pin the libraries you want to see there.

My preference is one server on the NAS to be accessed by all devices including my PC. How do you point the PC to the server on the NAS? I don’t want the PC server running.

Essentially, I want to move the location of the server but still access it through my PC. Is it a question of uninstalling the app and using my browser instead?

Thanks for your help.

Simply uninstall the server on your PC (to get started you can simply stop the Plex Media Server app on your PC). You can access the server on your NAS using the desktop apps (Plex for Windows, Plex Media Server) or Plex Web (http://app.plex.tv/desktop or http://[NAS IP address]:32400/web)

Ah so the server is not tethered to the Windows app…
