One of my family members complained that one of the OTA channels was going in and out last night, so she had to go to a plug-in back up way of watching. So I go to my server to see if there is any issues and I try to load the guide through my PMP App on my desktop (running my PMS on a standalone computer) and I get “The Guide is empty” on the page? Switch over to the actual server and get the same message (I assume because I’m the Admin it is the same whether I’m on the PMP or the PMS). I try to refresh the guide and it goes through its little dance and says its complete. Go to the guide and still get the “The Guide is empty”. Is there something I’m missing?
Funny thing is the OTA guide shows up fine on the Roku devices I have and loads the channels fine. Is there something I’m missing?
Rebooting the server I thought brought back the guide but only for the currently airing. Got to about 15% after refreshing the guide and stopped. Now anything after about an hour forward comes up “unknown airing” and tomorrow and beyond says “The Guide is empty” is this the scrapper for the guide not working?
Doing the same thing to me. Tried everything, no luck.
Yup — DVR is showing the things that were already scheduled but I cannot get the guide to refresh or schedule anything new.
Same issue here, I tried all the usual guide refresh things, shutting down Plex, removing the 3 EPG files from the databases folder, restarting Plex. It downloads some guide data, but now shows “The Guide is Empty” when I go to the Guide. It still shows a couple of days worth of recordings, but nothing further. I uninstalled Plex and reinstalled, same result, I even uninstalled an went back a version, and same result. It was all working fine since the last update until the other day and I noticed the guide/recordings weren’t updating for further down the road like they should. Now I can’t even get the guide data to fully download, gets to about 34% and looks like it just completes. But then has the Guide is Empty business.
I’m having the same problem running a Plex server on my Synology NAS and streaming to PMP in Windows 8.1. Plex server would say that it was downloading guide info, like it should, but then wouldn’t display it on the grid layout. I restarted the Plex server in Synology, and now it updates and works like it should – however, it’s extremely annoying to have to do this every couple of days. My wife is a very whiny techno-tard and barely understands how to turn the TV on let alone reset a bunch of stuff. I’m hoping this gets resolved soon so that I can ditch Windows and wave goodbye to WMC.
I started having guide issues as well today. Hard for me to restart the server (Unraid docker running stable
Version 1.13.9.5456) as I record a lot of TV and usually something is recording. This along with a a couple others issues like HD recording etc. is making it hard to use Plex.
I just tried to refresh guide data from the DVD screen and it got to about 1% and stopped and says Guide is empty please refresh your guide. Recording data is still there, but no guide data. Then decided to reboot, lost all the upcoming recording data but at least so far it appears to be building the guide data correctly. Very frustrating.
I’ve found the only way to remidie this so far is deleting my HDHomeRun Extend and adding it back in. Works for about a day or two then I have to do it again.
Howdy Forkboylink,Kyclease1,Cruiskeen, They are aware of it and are testing a Beta Build Now to resolve it…its been an issues…you can get the guide to show up but you have to manually update it and in some cases its like 5x to get a 100% Guide… A few of us have same issues so hopefully it wont be long to resolve it… Cow }:-o)
There was an issue giving rise to JSON Parse Error where the response for the guide refresh contained error 403 Forbidden. This should be fixed now.
Additionally Plex Media Server beta 1.14.0.5465 has retries for failed requests to fetch the guide - so that in itself would have helped whilst the issue was there
Please do manual update to the guide and once that completes ok, then incremental updates would ensure the guide remains up to date
If problems persist, please provide fresh logs from the server with debug logging enabled beforehand and also a zip of the Diagnostics directory which is within the Plex Media Server data area

I’ve updated my HDHOMERUN Extend via the network uosdate tool. Shut down my Win10 Plex Server unistalled the Extend from the Server reinstalled it and haven’t had an issue since.
Have you checked for an update to your WinTv is up-to-date?
