Plex Local Server Guide Partially Broken

Live TV Guide is no longer able to Browse the local Plex Server program guide, response says “Something went wrong - An unexpected error occurred.” LiveTV Guide, DVR Schedule work. I deleted the 3 guide EPG files and refreshed the databases. The DVR recording schedule and channel lists repopulated and shows are recording, still not able to browse by episode, show, or movie from off air channels under the Browse (local server) tab.

I’m looking for additional suggestions for DB that is populating, but not fully working. Over the past 6 months I have noticed the TV guide refresh does not always happen automatically. I updated (new box) the machine running Plex Media Server after 5 years with a fresh installation including completely rebuilding the show DB which took many days. The system has been stable until this issue which is the main method I use to record new broadcast TV content.

Rollback to 1.41.7.9823 till they push a new server version.

Thank you Tiebierius and OttoKerner for your replies. I read the topics from as long as 4,5,6,7 years ago. That’s where I saw the suggestion to delete the cloud guide EPG files to allow a complete refresh to take place instead of just refreshing the guide. I was not able to find a 2025 post reporting the issue.

Since posting this, I have found a work-around. Instead of using the Browse tab, you can review upcoming movies/shows by going to the What-On tab and then scroll down the categories of on now, movies on later, kids later, etc.

To the Plex Dev team… seems like this has been a problem for many years now and deserves a good sprint to resolve long standing bugs or compatibility with the guide service. Regardless of the issue, I still dig Plex.
