TV Guide shows "Loading" for every channel in the guide

POsted about this before but then forgot about it:

My Plex Server is a Windows 10 computer. It never goes to sleep or shuts down. When I go to the Live TV section in the Plex App or via the website player, all the channels show “Loading” in the app or “Unknown Airing” in the web player.

If I go to the Live TV & DVR section in the settings, and manually click the Refresh Guide, it takes a few minutes but eventually completes. If I then go off the Live TV section in the app, and go back on it, it will shows the show info. I have to do this almost every time I go to the Live TV area.

Anyone know what might cause this to happen or if there’s a way to fix it? Is there any way to set the time of day that the guide will refresh in case it’s timing out or something like that?

Any ideas or help would be great.

Thanks.

I am running my Plex server on a Mac computer and have the same problem. Every TV show has “Unknown Airing”

I gave up. Never got any response on my other thread so I just use something else for the TV Guide and use Plex once I know which channel I want to watch.

Without the log files its really hard to say.

Usually it is a corrupt DB file, either the main one or the tv.plex.providers.epg.cloud* files. Easiest remedy is stop plex and go into the Database directory and delete any files starting with tv.plex.providers, then restart Plex and refresh the guide.

Live TV without a Plex Pass was usually limited to 24 hours of guide, it may have been reduced to 12.

The Android client and the Plex for Mac/Windows had the issue of not refreshing the guide if you had been watching for more than an hour but should be fixed in the most recent versions.

What folder do I find those files? I’ll happily delete them and seem if that helps. And which log files would you want to see?

See the article for finding and posting your server logs

OK, so here’s what I just did.
11:01 I opened Plex on my Fire Stick and went to Live TV. Every channel just had one giant show listing that had the name of the channel and went from 11:01PM - 6:59PM. They all said 19hrs and 58 minutes left.
11:03 I went in via the website and did a Refresh on the Guide. Once that was done I went off and back on the Live TV section on the TV and then it refreshed and loaded up fine.

Logs are attached in case it has any info to help figure out why I have to do that so often.

“Surprise, surprise, surprise!” (Hopefully you get the reference.)

I guess the question is, Does Live TV & DVR work well enough for you to pay for a Plex Pass or can you be satisfied refreshing the guide every 3 hours because that is now the limitation for non PP users. Just enough time to try, but not enough to be fully useful. DEBUG - EPG[cloud]: EPG cache set to 3 hours.

You could set your scheduled tasks to 7 PM so that you don’t have to manually do this before evening TV.

I rarely watch Live TV but it’s annoying that almost every time I do, the guide doesn’t work. If I can change the time to run in the evening, that would probably be helpful. I see the time setting under Scheduled Tasks, but I don’t see where it says what those maintenance items are. If someone was watching something when they kicked off, would anyone notice?

Is there a way to kick off a TV Guide refresh via a Windows scheduled task or powershell command or anything like that?
