The Movie Database cannot find existing show

Show exists. But if I use “Match” I cannot find according to name the show.

  • Tried different languages.
  • Tried change name.
  • Tride change date.
  • Tried use only “ID”.

It looks like that the agent stopped to work with The Movie Database.

which show, which library language?
which year did you enter when manually matching it?

I want to do it manually - I am talking about this.

What type library is it in?

The agent is not able to find any previous matched shows. So I think something is wrong with the agent.

just tested it and it sort of worked right away for me (no manual matching needed).
test > Manželské etudy (1987) > Manželské etudy (1987).mkv

  • created a new library linked to the test folder
  • set language to Czech (after finding out what Czech translates to in Czech ;))
  • library scanned
  • looks like it’s been matched

1st attempt with Plex Movie agent, 2nd attempt after manually matching against The Movie Database, both left me with what I believe is the English title. Why it’s opting for the English titles etc. I cannot tell.

Can you confirm this is the same movie (apologies… UI is in German but that shouldn’t bother you)?

You mentioned the movie database. Do you have this in a Television type library or a movie type library?

I looked on TVDB and could not find an entry. TMDB only finds the partial listing you show. It is difficult to cross-populate data from Movies to Television.

If your files are named:

Marries Stores/
 Season 1/
  Marriage Stories - s01e01 - Ivana a Pavel.mp4

You can try to create a .NFO file with the ID number in it

tt=73843

Also, I suggest you

  1. move the files away from where PMS monitors
  2. Update Library
  3. Empty Trash
  4. Clean Bundles
  5. Now move them back into position
  6. Update again.

This is needed because PMS will not try to match as a new file after you rename it. The “Plex Dance” is needed.

Interesting… We’ve come up with two different results.

ah… I treated it like a movie.
changed my test library to “tv show” and here we go.

only issue I get that there seem to be no episode thumbs which results in Plex picking one from a show I recently uploaded – I’ve been reading some complaints about that some days ago :S

so whatever it is… I’m sad to tell you it appears to be a problem on your end.

After a few day the agent works without any repair.
