Update: I ended up formatted the shield
Hi, I opened the plex app on my Nvidia Shield and it said there was no internet connection. It was working the day before. The electricity had turned off an hour prior, so I thought maybe it needs resetting. I unplugged the Shield and plugged it in again. I opened the YouTube app to confirm it was connected to the internet.
I’ve tried troubleshooting steps to no avail. I updated the Nvidia Shield. I updated the plex app thinking it might update the server. I logged out of the server. I reset my Sky router. I checked my external hard drive where my media is stored (the server is installed on the Shield’s internal storage). When I login on my desktop web browser it displays “the server “SHIELD Android TV” is unreachable” with a red exclamation. The Plex media server is listed in my authorised devices but shows it hasn’t been accessed since before this problem. The Plex for Android (TV) app is listed in my authorised devices and shows it was accessed 16 minutes ago.
I saved an IP on my phone to access my server when I’m on my local network which is 192.168.0.46. When I load this address, it normally takes me to the page with my profiles to login to, but now the IP address just flashes with a blank page like it keeps trying to load.
I wonder if the server settings on the Shield are corrupted because of a sudden shutdown or if something happened to the SKY router. Maybe I need to set up my router to port forward correctly to the plex server. I am familiar with port forwarding but I need exact instructions, I don’t know what details I need to put in.
If anybody can help with port forwarding or has any other suggestions, I’ll be grateful.
