Shield TV pro version: 9.1.1(33.2.0.157)
Hello everybody, I have a Shield TV Pro, which serves as the Plex Media Server and Plex Media Player. My media is stored on a NAS. This setup has been working fine for quite some time until tonight when I wanted to watch a movie. However, I received the message “app.plex.tv is unable to connect to SHIELD Android TV.” I have tried searching for answers, but I can’t, for the life of me, solve this issue. I’ve encountered this exact problem in the past, and the way I resolved it was by removing the server via the web app and setting up Plex again on the Shield TV Pro. However, this time, the server entry doesn’t appear under settings in the web app. To start fresh, I removed every Authorized Device on the web app, but it didn’t help. On Shield TV I deleted the cache and data of both Plex Player and PMS. I can’t acces http://server.local.ip.address:32400/web. Now, when I try to set up Plex on my Shield TV, I get stuck with the message “Plex Media Server - Setup Failed, something went wrong.” Additionally, in the web app, it now says “The server ‘SHIELD Android TV’ is unreachable.”
I should mention that the only thing that recently changed was my Internet Service Provider (ISP). Previously, my internet connection came from an Ethernet port on the wall, which was hardwired to my router. The Shield TV and NAS were both hardwired to the router as well. However, after changing ISP, I now have a cable modem that is connected to the coaxial cable from the wall and then connected to the same router via Ethernet. I also attempted to log into my NAS after the Plex issue but noticed that I couldn’t. After using my NAS’ web assistance, I discovered that my NAS has been assigned a new IP address since I purchased it two years ago.
Does anybody know what the issue could be? Thank you.
